Too bad. You weren’t applying to a particular university, but you were simply looking for status. I suspect that many of your schools perceived that. You should look deeper at the schools to which you apply. What is it you want and what school is the best fit? When you identify the best fit for you and communicate that in your interview, you will much more likely be accepted to the school you want.

I'm not in a position to know for sure, but some of the reports I've been getting give a different picture of an Ivy League education today. They were saying that on the radio the average grade point at Harvard is a 4.0. This girl presents herself well, though, and she seems motivated. She seems like the type destined for great success, as far as I know.

I don't know why you showed up on my feed. But Hokkien is not a dying language. It is a common language in Singapore, Philippines, and southern China. Some Taiwanese people can understand Hokkien. It is not a Southeast Asian dialect. It is a Chinese dialect.

I think it’s important to add if you are in a full IB school and have done MYP then you are more prepared for IBDP but switching to IB from another curriculum in the past 2 years of school can be intense

I got rejected by the best university, but I was able to get three scholarship , I am honestly proud of myself and I do not care about what admission committee wants to say..

Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, Yale, Princeton seem better than Harvard or Penn just because they are not in major metro areas. Columbia seems horrible because it's in Manhattan. Plus security/crime are major concerns at those 3. I went to Ohio State in Columbus - crime/security should be factored into rankings but its not.

I've know geniuses who went to schools a lot of people would laugh at. And if we are honest, Cornell has the best engineering school in the Ivy League. Period. And other programs too. So whatever to HYPs. Get over yourselves.

Suicide talk was big thing thirty years ago when I was in college. I do feel that Cornell has done a great job making dorm and dining better than most schools and the emphasis on free mental health help onsite. I am sending my son to Cornell soon and thank you for this video!

As soon as you said Collegetown Bagels was on the "right". when you entered Collegetown, I got confused and had to check Google maps. When I was there ( late 80s, early 90s ) and even when I last visited back in 2014, Collegetown Bagels was on the left on the same spot that Ithaca Beer Co. is now. I was not somebody who went to Collegetown Bagels frequently ( was'n't a breakfast person during my college years, nor a coffee person ), but it is kinda sad that the old building it was in was replaced by a building with an ugly black glass facade.

Class of '92 here. I've found myself watching Cornell vids, because of both the hockey team's NCAA playoff game today and an impending visit to Cornell for my wife's ( '94 ) 30th reunion has me nostalgic. Anyway, I'm glad some things never change and they still call Okenshields by the name Okensh*t ( we also called in Chokenshields back in the day ). I guess there is no longer a "Sage Dining" option at Sage Hall. Sage used to be the best place to get food Monday-Friday on the central part of campus ( They served a "McRib"-style sandwich ).

When I talk to a student, I don't ask what school they're going to, I ask what they're studying, why they chose that major, and what their dream job is. That's how I know whether I want to keep in touch with them as potential future employees.

My sister's freshman year roommate at the University of Chicago turned Harvard down for UC because Harvard's acceptance letter opened with "Dear Minority Student". UC's letter started with "Dear Cathy". Couple years later, after a very impressive undergrad career, when she was deciding where to go for her masters', Harvard tried recruiting her, and she told them basically that Harvard was rather weak in her chosen field, and suggested that they really need to get a lid on their institutional conceit.

Hokkien is not a southeast Asian dialect, it’s a Chinese dialect and it’s spoken in Fujian China where the dialect originated.

For my EE can I write about a subject I don’t do

My son was admitted to Cornell's Hotel School recently and we're going to visit Ithaca next week to check out the school for the first time. He's a Christian and we'll be there on a Sunday, so we were wondering what church you attended during your time in Ithaca? In the list of ministries at Cornell, we also ran across a group called Christian Union (it's a group focused on building Christian leaders that has chapters solely at the top schools such as Cornell around country). Have you heard of it or know anything about it? Enjoying your videos BTW. They're helpful as my son is making his college decision.

I'm almost done with IB and watching this🫠 from my own experience, I like the environment because it is very international, but in my school the teachers barely teach, and in VA at least she gives me feedback on my process pages like I'm already supposed to know that (although she never mentioned it before). So I think that it depends from school to school, but if you see that the teacher is lacking teaching skills, please change the subject as soon as you still can, because IB is hard enough as it is <3
